    Cluster Competences and Strategy

    Strengths & Competences

    The cluster offers companies trainings, consultation and assistance in exports. In addition to all of these services companies are getting a huge benefit from the fairs and exhibitions that are funded by our cluster. All the fair and exhibitions should be related to aerospace industry.

    OSSA member firms have abilities to produce of the sector and customer needs and the standards, presence of dimensional control and measurement infrastructure at a certain level, competence that to be able to handle complex and difficult parts with high precision, the ability to make a partnership solution for primary industries, advanced quality assurance infrastructure of knowledge and skills in the areas of expertise of Aerospace companies and industrial manufacturers. With the goal of finding new employment opportunities and new markets OSSA achieved due diligence to increase the international competitiveness of member firms, identify deficiencies and suggestions for activities for resolve that deficiencies. So, we enhanced of the member firms exports and reduced the difficulties that face the companies, offered a different vision and provide new perspectives; we have prepared strategies to create a business plan. We provide to firms that act more proactively at export and explained about opportunities at export, created awareness; organized education to overcome lack of information about exports and reduce costs of export that faced by firms.

    We focus on manufacturing technologies and we support them to have more technologically production process. Within the cluster, to wiring from the machining, electronics, surface processing, software engineering in many areas of business, there are companies that we can count on. This wealth provides higher capacity and capability, strengthens our hand for the promotion of Turkish aerospace industry in international area. We are in constant communication with primary industries and The Under-secretariat for Defense Industries. We use the web-based cluster management program, to reach everyone anytime when necessary. We are able to transfer the problems and solutions of our companies. It doesn't just stay with the main demands by matching them with companies from the industries and abroad, we are able to open new doors for the firms. So, basically a lot of things that we do together, our companies can't do it alone. We produce together for aerospace.

    Science & Research

    The cluster has a pool of academia which are willing to collaborate with the industry. And also cluster supports the enterprises who want to be a part of a project run by universities and research institutions. We are in collaboration with universities and research institutions such as co-operation, sharing knowledge and skills, testing service and solution Partnership on the work of collaborations and R & D collaborations. We are conducting one to one interviews with the Department of Aerospace Engineering METU (Middle East Technical University) and also we're collaborating on ‘’New Things, New Ideas’’, projects about civil aviation with METU. We are doing presentations in our universities to promote the activities of the cluster companies. We are in collaboration with Anatolian University to prepare the aviation inventory.

    International Collaboration

    We know the importance for SMEs of the main industrial companies, we are trying to increase the cooperation between the members of the cluster and the undersecretariat for defense industries and major industrial firms. We are participating to domestic and international organizations and introducing our firms to instutions and many people that related with the sector. The connection has been established with the biggest companies in the International field like Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Thales, Safran, Eurosam, Spirit, Rosoboronexport, Alenia, SAAB, Agusta Westland and Kai for the increase of SMEs business share reach to success.

    OSSA organize an event name of ‘’Industrial Cooperation Days in Defence and Aerospace (ICDDA)’’ includes conference and B2B meetings in every 2 years. We organize our activity to serve the civil aviation sector on a global scale.

    Especially we achieve great success in ICDDA 2014, with over 250 companies from more than 34 countries globally in 4800 one-to-one meetings. It will continue with ICDDA 2016 at 11-13 October.

    We signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aerospace Valley at Paris Airshow at 2015 and OSSA also has European Cluster Excellence Initiative Bronze Label Certificate given from European Comission.

    OSSA joins all Aerospace exhibitions located in Europe and USA to strengthen the collaboration between SMEs and international companies.
